How do I update the software on my Neato Botvac D3 / D5 / Connected robot?

Keep the software on your specific model of Botvac Connected robot current. When a software update is available, the software update icon will appear in the Neato app on your robot dashboard updateIcon. Tap the icon to initiate an automatic update. You cannot use your robot while the software update is in progress.

Or you can manually update the software directly on your robot.

  • Get the Update Cable that came in your package and get a USB 2.0 flash drive.
  • Go to and log-in
  • Under your Botvac Connected Robot that you have registered, you will see SOFTWARE UPDATE
  • Click Software Update and it will take you to the appropriate software update for your robot (if one is available)
