Wi-Fi Troubleshooting – steps to take if you are having trouble connecting your Neato Botvac Connected robot

If you have a Neato Botvac Connected and you have not had success connecting your robot, try the following:

STEP 1:  Check your Wi-Fi Router Information:

  • Make sure your wireless router is either 2.4GHz or a dual band router that is configured to support 2.4GHz.  Botvac Connected does not support the 5GHz band.  See information here to find out how to determine if your router supports the 2.4GHz band.
  • Verify you have the correct password for your network.  If you are trying to connect to a Hidden Network, make sure you have the correct network name, SSID, and that the network is 2.4GHz.  Also note that the SSID is case sensitive.
  • Make sure your Wi-Fi router firewall and port settings allow your Neato robot to connect to the Neato servers.

STEP 2:  Make sure your robot Wi-Fi access point is ON:

  • Power cycle your robot
    1. Open the dirt bin.
    2. Push the Power Switch UP to turn OFF robot.
    3. Push Power Switch DOWN to turn ON robot.
  • If the icon in the top corner of the home screen is: wifi_logo, then the robot Wi-Fi access point is ON and you should go to STEP 3.
  • If there is no icon in the top left corner of the Home screen then your robot Wi-Fi is OFF, do the following to turn it ON:
    1. Press SELECT button under the Home screen to go to the Main Menu.
    2. Choose Settings.
    3. Select Wi-Fi.
    4. Turn Wi-Fi ON.
    5. Return to Home screen by pushing BACK button twice
    6. If the icon in the top left corner of the Home screen is wifi_logo , then the robot Wi-Fi access point is ON and you can go to STEP 3.
  • If you see this icon ✖ or this icon  signal_strength_icon  in the top left corner of the Home screen, then do the following:
    1. Reset the robot Wi-Fi: Please take the Neato off the charge base. With the square edge of the robot facing you, push the right, side bumper into the robot and at the same time, with your left hand, press the CLEAN House button.  Hold both for about 15 seconds until the robot re-boots – the lights of the robot and LCD screen will turn off and the robot will automatically turn back on.

    2. Do the following to turn the robot Wi-Fi ON so it is setup as a Wi-Fi access point:
