NiMh: Experiencing short runtime or batteries don’t hold charge

If you are experiencing shorter than expected run times please follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Clean your robot thoroughly to ensure proper mechanical and sensor operation. Excessive debris build up, dirt, or dust can affect the robot’s ability to operate normally and can result in short run times.

Clean Wheels
Clean Sensors

2. Try recalibrating your robot’s batteries.

Depending on the environment, how frequently you run your robot, and the age of your robot, your battery will eventually lose its ability to hold a charge and have to be replaced.
