The Botvac Connected robots use Wi-Fi to connect to the internet. There are two frequency bands commonly used for Wi-Fi communication: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. With the exception of the Botvac Connected D7 which can connect to both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands all other Botvac Connected Robots can only connect to and use the 2.4 GHz band to access the Internet.
When using the Neato iOS or Android app to setup your robot and you get to the step that instructs you to select your Wi-Fi network you will only see the available 2.4 GHz wireless networks, when you connect your robot.
If you want to connect your robot to a hidden network make sure it is a 2.4 GHz network otherwise you will receive an error message on your robot. The error message you will receive is:
NOTE: For best results Neato recommends connecting your Botvac Connected D7 robot to a 2.4 GHz band as it provides the widest coverage to reach all corners of your home.
