Multiple Floor Plans with No-Go Lines and Quick Boost

Multiple Floor Plans with No-Go Lines

What is the purpose of multiple floor plans?
Multiple floor plans allow you to clean with No-Go Lines on more than one floor. If you have a home with multiple levels, you will be able to store a floor plan and add No-Go Lines for each level.

Do I have to do anything to get the multiple floor plan onto my robot?

To get this feature, you need to start by updating the Neato app and then you will receive a notification in the Neato app that your robot needs to be updated. To update your Neato app, go to the App Store (for iOS) or Play Store (Android), search for the Neato app, and you will find there is an update available to app version 2.6. Once the new app is installed, open the app, and you will get a notification that there is a robot software update available. Tap on that notification to begin the update. When the installation is complete, the robot will be on software version 4.2. You can check by visiting the Robot Info section of the app.

How do I add an additional floor plan?

  1. Open the side menu by touching three_bars.png
  2. Tap on My Floor Plan
  3. You will see your existing floor plan listed. Tap on your existing floor plan name.
  4. Touch Add a New Floor Plan
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set-up a new floor plan.

How do I use No-Go Lines with the additional floor plans?
To clean with No-Go lines, you must start the cleaning using the Neato app, and the robot must start from the charge base. The charge base must be located in the same location where you created the floor plan. By doing this, the robot vacuum will automatically recognize the floor plan it is in. For the best experience, we highly recommend that you purchase an additional charge base for each floor.

How many floor plans with No-Go Lines can I store?
You can store up to a maximum of 3-floor plans.

Do I need additional charge bases for additional floor plans?
For the best experience, we recommend additional charge bases for additional floor plans. To start cleaning using a floor plan with No-Go Lines, the cleaning must be initiated via the Neato app, and the robot must start from a charge base. The charging base must be in the same position where the floor plan was created. Therefore, it will be more convenient if you had an additional charge base for each floor.

When setting up a new floor plan, I get an error message that says “Duplicate Floor Plan”. What should I do?
The robot vacuum determines what floor plan it is in based on where it starts. This message indicates that the starting location is too similar to an existing floor plan that is stored. Try moving the charge base to another location in the room or another room and start the new floor plan process again.

When setting up a new floor plan, I get an error message that says “Area Too Empty”. What should I do?
At the beginning of creating a floor plan, the robot needs to see enough unique characteristics of the starting area to be able to distinguish it from other areas of the home. If the area is too empty - for example, with no nearby walls or large furniture - the robot will have a hard time identifying where it is and remembering this area. To resolve this issue, place the charge base in an area where there is a side wall or other large furniture within a 10-foot radius of the charging station.

Which robots offer the multiple floor plan feature?
The multiple floor plan feature is compatible with the Neato Botvac D7 Connected.

Why does the app say my robot is "Not Supported" after I updated the robot software?
It is likely you may have updated the robot software without updating the Neato App to the latest version. To update your Neato app, go to the App Store (for iOS) or Play Store (Android), search for the Neato app, and you will find there is an update available to app version 2.6.  Once the app is installed, your robot should work normally. To confirm that your robot is updated to the latest software (version 4.2), please visit the Robot Info section of the app

Quick boost charging

What is quick boost charging?
Quick boost charging can reduce the overall cleaning time of a floor plan. For homes with a large floor plan, the robot vacuum may not have enough power to finish cleaning and need to go back to the base to get a full charge, before automatically resuming the job.

With quick boost, the robot calculates how much it needs to finish the job and only charges that amount. If only 10% of the floor plan needs to be cleaned, the robot knows only to charge enough to clean this last area, instead of taking the time to complete a full charge to finish this small area.

Do I have to do anything to get the quick boost feature onto my robot?
To get this feature, you need to start by updating the Neato app and then you will receive a notification in the Neato app that your robot needs to be updated. To update your Neato app, go to the App Store (for iOS) or Play Store (Android), search for the Neato app, and you will find there is an update available to app version 2.6. Once the new app is installed, open the app, and you will get a notification that there is a robot software update available. Tap on that notification to begin the update. When the installation is complete, the robot will be on software version 4.2. You can check by visiting the Robot Info section of the app.

How do I turn on quick boost charging?
Once you download software version 4.2 onto your Neato Botvac D7 Connected, quick boost will be enabled. To make it work, you must initiate cleaning using a saved floor plan. If you haven’t saved a floor plan, create one by going to My Floor Plan, select Get Started, and follow the instructions.

Are there any on-screen indicators that quick boost charging is enabled?
No, there are no on-screen indicators that quick boost is enabled.
