Overview
You have unpacked your new robot and its accompanying charge base. Now you want to understand how your robot charges.
Note: Your Neato battery comes partially charged. Before you use your Neato for the first time allow the robot to charge until the LED becomes green (up to 3 hours).

How to charge your robot
Always charge your Neato using the supplied Neato Original charge base and battery.
- Put your robot a few in/cm in front of the charge base.
- Then slowly move it backwards until the metal bars of the robot touch the metal bars of the charge base.
To check if the battery is empty, charging, or full, check the battery LED on the robot or the MyNeato app.
Charging after a clean
Usually, your robot starts a clean from its charge base. After the cleaning run is finished, the robot uses its LIDAR navigation system to dock and recharge itself. The robot finds the charge base, centers itself, and turns around to get into the right position for charging. Then, Neato slowly shimmies back up to the charge base until it makes contact.
If your robot gets lost during a clean, you may need to return it manually to its charge station. Pick the robot up by the handle and place it in front of the charge base. Then drive the robot up to its charge base. Your robot is properly docked when its two metal stripes slightly touch the metal bars on the base.
If you start a clean away from the charge base, you will need to manually return the robot to its station after the job is finished.
Allow the robot to charge fully before its next clean.
Charging during a clean
The Neato robot’s cleaning cycles consist of 3 cleanings and 2 recharges. This means if the robot is not done cleaning your house on the first clean, it will go back to the base, recharge, and then continue where it left off.
When the robot is recharging to continue to clean, the MyNeato App will indicate this by showing “Charging to clean”.
