While connecting your robot to the MyNeato app, you have selected your Wi-Fi network and entered your password, but the app can still not create a connection. There are several reasons why this could be:
- The app doesn't recognize my Wi-Fi password
- The network name contains special characters
- Issue with the WPA/WPA2 encryption
The app doesn't recognize my Wi-Fi password
Verify that you are entering the correct password for your network. Note that your password is case-sensitive.
The password must not contain any special characters or spaces (e.g. ()!"£$%^&*). The password must contain only letters and numbers. If the password of your Wi-Fi contains special characters, please change it to contain only alphanumeric characters.
The network name contains special characters
if your network name (SSID) contains special characters or spaces (e.g. ()!"£$%^&*), the MyNeato app may not be able to properly connect to it. In this case, please change your SSID to contain only alphanumeric characters
Issue with the WPA/WPA2 encryption
There are several security certification programs for Wi-Fi encryptions, the most common ones being WPA and WPA 2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access). In order to connect the Neato to your Wi-Fi, your router must be set to WPA or WPA2. It has to be one or the other.
However, if your router combines both (WPA and WPA2), your Neato might not be able to connect to your Wi-Fi. In case of doubt, please contact your internet provider for more information.
Note: Neato currently does not provide support for Enterprise-level password security (WEP EAP).
