To clean an area away from the charge base or on another floor carry the Neato vacuum where you want it, put it down on the floor and manually start it. Once it’s done cleaning the robot will return to the starting point where you first put it down.
You don’t need to take the charge base with you between multiple floors of your house unless you have a large space and anticipate the robot will need to recharge during the cleaning cycle.
NOTE: If you will be using your Neato D5, D6, D7 robot on multiple floors often, you can take advantage of Floor Planner and No-Go Lines on each floor of your house. With this feature, you will need to move the charging base each floor.
